Don't you love how people say one thing and do another; how they claim to embody a certain characteristic, and then display nothing of the sort? It's funny how you almost never realize this until you spend some time with them away from the public eye. Why is this the default for so many people? Because they are more concerned with the approval of the people around them, then living out the truth.
So many times we are trying to live up to the expectations that others put on us; that society puts on us. But at what point do we realize that these expectations are almost always born from their own insecurities? Those people are struggling with their personal issues, and for some reason, they think it is a good idea to attack your shortcomings instead of dealing with their stuff. Why give in to this? Why do we choose to make what they think more of a priority than what is really true about us?
People are so afraid of being rejected that they are unwilling to be real. THIS SICKENS ME TO MY CORE! What good are you if you are fake?! Nobody will ever care about you like that! Do you want to know why? Because you are not displaying the real you, so how could they?! You are living a lie, and they are loving a lie. You should be ashamed of yourself... Forget what people think about you. If someone doesn't like you for who you are then screw 'em! Your value is not in the worth that is placed on you by man, but the value that the God of all creation holds for you! Get over yourself and look at the facts!
Stop being a self-centered pain in the butt and think about something other than yourself for a change. How about you invest some of your time and energy into helping someone else understand their worth? Isn't it funny how as soon as you stop looking in the mirror, it is as if a weight has been lifted. That's because vanity does nothing but breed insecurity, pride, jealousy, and foolishness. Stop the foolish cycle, and grow up! This world does not revolve around you, and that's definitely a good thing!
Now that I have vented my frustration at you, seriously consider these things. You will never live up to your full potential if you are constantly trying to stroke someone else's ego by changing who you are for them. Be proud of who you are. You are not a mistake. For someone to think so is the true mistake.
