"Oh my gosh! The trash is overflowing again!" Have you ever said those words? I know I have. But it isn't just the trash is it? Often times the counters are messy. The floor is dirty and covered in crumbs. Clothes are strewn everywhere. Miscellaneous possessions are stacked on the dining room table.
It can be downright overwhelming can't it? Looking around you just makes you want to go to sleep and hope that pretty little fairies clean up while you drift away in dreamland. We all know that is not a reality, though. But it doesn't mean that you can't dig your way out of the man-eating mess! It is really quite simple...
Step one: Focusing on ONE thing at a time, put your house (office, car, etc.) back in order. It usually helps to remove trash first. Then work on clothes, paperwork, and so-on.
Step two: KEEP IT CLEAN!
The easiest way to never have to deal with mess, is to never let it get too big. If you spill something on your counter, clean it up BEFORE you move on to your next task. When you are done with a dish, wash it right away, or make sure it gets deposited into your dishwasher. Don't eat in rooms that aren't designated for eating. This is one that we are all at fault for, but we forget that when we eat in comfort, we tend to get too comfortable to clean up. Take out the trash as soon as it gets full. We all know that an overflowing waste basket is just pure laziness.
Have a basket available for dirty laundry, and put your clothes in it AS SOON AS YOU TAKE THEM OFF. Clean laundry needs to be put away as soon as its done in the dryer. You're gonna need that basket for more dirty laundry. Have designated places for shoes and other items that are used often. If you see the pattern, you can apply this to every area of your life.
For those of you who want to claim that you don't mind the mess, you will be surprised at how much less you stress in cleanliness. When your life isn't cluttered, it is a lot harder for your mind and emotions to be. Not only that, you tend to lose things a lot less frequently, which can be a stress relief in and of itself. So why not work together with me, today, to enjoy a life without mess. You aren't the only one that will benefit from this...
